Use Pinterest’s New Tool to Help Find Your Dream Destination

Inspired by the look of a place? Then we’ve got a tip for you.

Sometimes it’s the look of a place that inspires us to want to visit. For travelers who roam the Internet looking for visual inspiration to decide where to go next, Pinterest has a handy new tool.

Visual Search allows a user to use any photo—of anything from a must-have pair of shoes to a delicious cake or … most importantly for our purposes, a gorgeous vista—click the magnifying glass icon that comes up in the top right of the image, and be transported to a world of similar photos.

So, for instance, I used SmarterTravel editor Josh Roberts’ Patagonia story, pinned with its dramatic picture of Torres del Paine, to find other incredible alpine images. With one click, I found mountain peaks in India, Switzerland, Alaska, Norway, and Kurdistan whose beauty rivaled that of Patagonia’s.

Inspiration has never been this easy.
