Product Review: QuikStand Mobile Device Stand

A credit card sized device that props up your phone or tablet for hands-free viewing.

What is it: The QuikStand Mobile Device Stand, a credit card sized device that holds up your smartphone or tablet in portrait or landscape for hands-free use.

Price and Where to Buy: $9.99 at Nite Ize’s website

Pros: The QuikStand is super small and portable, unlike many bulky tablet/smartphone stands. Use it to watch movies on a long plane ride or while reading your book in bed. You can adjust the angle of the stand for the perfect view of your device.

Cons: It takes a minute to figure out how to use the device (the illustrations on the package were slightly unclear to us) but once you work it out, it’s very easy to use.

How it Rates:

  • Usefulness: 10/10: Ever watched a movie on your iPad or smartphone or read a book on your Kindle while propping it up with a makeshift water bottle or seat-back as your support? Don’t risk damaging your device—the QuikStand is way better and lets you watch use your device in portrait or landscape hands-free.
  • Value: 10/10. It’s less than $10, so you can buy one for every device if you want.
  • Durability: 9/10. The QuikStand is made from aluminum and a flexible plastic, and seems very durable.
  • Portability: 10/10. The QuikStand measures just 3.4″ x 2″ x 0.2″ and weighs only 0.4 oz., plus it folds flat for travel—you could fit it in your wallet.

Final Verdict: Don’t struggle with holding your heavy device or propping it up! Keep the QuikStand in your wallet and use your devices (from phones to tablets) hands-free anywhere.
