Located along the coasts of Kenya sits the city of Mombasa. It is a heavily populated city that boasts a nightlife full of clubs and bars.


There are plenty of nightclubs for people looking to dance. Il Covo is both a nightclub and a restaurant with Italian and Japanese cuisine. The night club is known to be a popular place for tourists, where visitors can listen to both western and mzungu music. People visiting Mombasa can find it along Bamburi Beach. Another popular place to visit is the Florida Nightclub, which features some up-tempo dance music and lots of international guests.


The Pitcher and Butch is located in the Kamaha Hotel. It is a modern bar that is popular with the locals. This place plays live jazz on Thursdays, while local legend Mombasa Roots plays on Friday and Sunday;

Along Bamburi Beach, you can find the Cheers Bar. There is no entrance fee and the beer and food is very affordable. Visitors can sit with the locals and watch football from the flat screen TVs on the wall. Further down the beach is Bob’s Bar, an open-air bar which has live music on Thursdays and Sundays. In the same area is an air-conditioned location called Murphy’s. It is very popular on the weekends, particularly among visitors from Nairobi.
