This isn’t the first time Best Western has offered a gift card after two stays. But whereas past promotions have featured a $50 gift card, this new offer features a gift card worth just half that.
Between September 8 and November 22, Best Western Rewards members will earn a $25 Best Western Travel Card after two qualifying stays. The travel card must be redeemed on or before January 4, 2016.
The bonus may only be earned once per member.
Registration is required.
Deal or No Deal
Assuming the two qualifying stays are one-nighters at an average rate of $100, the $25 card amounts to a 12.5 percent rebate. The rebate percentage increases or decreases as the room rates fall or rise.
For most travelers, then, the rebate will be decent if less than compelling.
But two separate stays in such a short period? That will be a deal-breaker for many. And that Travel Card isn’t a cash-like gift card—the amount can only be applied toward Best Western stays. Making it less valuable still, it must be used by January 4. And that’s after waiting two to three weeks after the second qualifying stay to receive the gift card.
Best Western partisans should certainly take advantage of the bonus. But the promotion isn’t likely to move the needle for brand-agnostic travelers. And it shouldn’t.
